The movie of Romeo and Juliet is unique because it's more or less a modern version of the play. I like it because at first, I was confused with the play and didn't understand some scenes. But this movie helped me to analyze and understand it easily, because it is funny interesting, and always keep my attention. In this essay, I'm going to explain he characters in the movie, comparing and contrasting them with the ones in the book. Also about what I like and dislike about the movie, give some recommendations about it, and a final conclusion of my overall opinion of the movie.
The movie and the book are very similar since it is the same play, "Romeo and Juliet". To me the is very boring, it has a very confusing language because of the Shakespearean time period. Instead, the movie is funny and interesting, without forgetting to explain in a good way the play. Both have the same characters but with different descriptions. For example Mercutio; I the book he is describe as very serious person, fried. Of Romeo and quiet. In the movie, he is totally different; he is the funniest person I could know, he is very extroverted, a good person, without penalty etc. I didn't though he would be like that, I think he would be shy, timid. He really surprises me, I love him.
I really enjoy the movie, I was impressed because it was understandable, but at the same time really funny. It keeps my attention all the time and I understand all, the play, know the role of all characters and also the love for each other even though they were foes. Sometimes I dislike the movie when it was so funny or seems to be funny, because it gets about of the central idea of tragedy and love. I totally dislike the book because it was very boring, I don't understand it because it used Shakespearean language, and also because I don't like to read.
I recommend this movie to all the people that read the play and didn't understand it, if they feel confused and lost in the play, by watching the movie they could organize their ideas. I also recommend it to those people who like comedy, because this movie is funny while explaining with detail the play, the solution is to watch the amazing movie.
In conclusion, I really love the movie, because it was the passage to understand the play better, to organize my ideas and analyze it more. This version of Romeo and Juliet really changed my way of thinking about this play, it is funny and recommend it to all who struggle with the book.
