Esperanza rising
The book I read in the summer was Esperanza Rising, by Pam Muñoz Ryan, she was borned on December 11, 1951 in California and she also wrote "Riding Freedom". Esperanza Rising is about a girl who´s name is Esperanza, she lives in a beautiful farm, with her father, grandmother, and her father. Esperanza had dolls, and also beautiful dresses. One day a terrible new change completely her life, "she was know in the other side of the river". some settings are the farm, Mexico, California, fields, cabins, campament etc. Esperanza is the protagonist and tio Louis was the antagonist, because he was the one who was the force opposite of Esperanza. The main conflict is the decision of her mother at her ancle proposal, they solve it going to California to work.
I like this book because Esperanza´s life is the reality of some mexicans who are searching in the United States more opportunities of work, or hiding from someone, just like Esperanza and her mother were hiding from tio Louis. I like the form of writting of the book because it is easy to understand without difficult words. It has lots of description, and that makes the story more understandable to read and to visualize the settings and also the characters. It has also details, and sometimes the little ones make the difference. I recomend the book to everybody, because it is interesting, easy to understand, and give us a lesson of life.
Super Sweet 13
This book is about a girl who is performing 13 years old. Carly wants her birthday party to be perfect, she wants a perfect list of guests, the theme, the outfits etc. Carly was so anxious that she research parties from months, she has a purple notebook where she puts ideas and tips for the perfecdt party. While she was preparing her party she also need to be concentrate of doing her homework and keeping her grades up. Carlas parents are making her to cut the list of guest because there is too much people, but to Carla is almost impossible to cut it. To Carly is very important this party, because she is getting older everyday.
I like this book because that the way life works. When we are little we want to be older, to do perfect parties, have friend and also boyfriends, but when you get older you want to be younger. I like because it talks about real life. This book has details, and the form of writting is easy to understand and it has lots of descriptions, that way we could understand more the physical part of the characters and also their surrounding. I recomend this book to people about those ages because if it read it someone older maybe it coul be boring.
