The genaral feeling towards plays in this period of time was unsavory. The first proper theater was called the Teathre in Shoreditch. the most famous was called The Globe, and end its functions in 1613 after it was fired with a cannon in a play of Henry VIII. People would stand and nobles would watch the play seated in a chair next to the stage. At this time there was no artificial lighting for the plays, so this resulted in the plays being in the afternoon. Females could attend plays, but they could not act in the play, only males could and female roles would be played by young boys. If people didn't like the play, they would throw things at the performers.
Shakespeare work provides reference to ancient celtic and greek mythological figures and in others popular mhthological figures. Shakespere historys were a tribute to the british monarchy and britain itself. With this tributes he tried to have a good reliable position as a favored playwright.
Additionally Shakespeare invented aproximately 1,700 words, some people say they were 3,000. One of the words I like the most from Shakespeare is the expression: " tongue-tied".
